Photography Guidelines

Before You Photograph

Shoot during daylight
Turn on all lights
Open curtains/blinds
Remove small clutter items
Wipe surfaces if needed

What to Capture

One photo from each corner
One straight-on photo of each wall
Close-ups of:
Windows
Architectural details
Flooring
Furniture being kept
Entry view into the room
Ceiling (if relevant)

Tip: Please hold your phone at chest height and keep it straight to avoid distortion.

Video Walkthrough (2–4 minutes)

A short walkthrough helps me experience the space the way you do. Narrate any quirks or things you’d like different.

Start at the doorway
Slowly pan left to right
Walk the perimeter
Pause at key features
Verbally mention problem areas

Tip: Please move slowly, this helps me understand scale and flow.

Measuring Your Space

Measurements do not need to be architectural-grade. Approximate measurements are completely fine.

Distance from window to nearest corner

Built-ins, fireplaces, radiators
Outlets + vents (approximate location)

Measure Furniture Being Kept

A hand-drawn sketch is perfect. Photograph it and include measurements clearly.

After I receive your photos, video, and measurements, I’ll begin developing concept layouts and sourcing. Please send everything within 5–7 days if possible so we can stay on our projected timeline.
